Adding a few garden beds or fresh sod might take just a few days. Larger projects — like full-property plantings, new trees, and irrigation systems — can take several weeks.

Most of our planting happens in the spring and in the fall.

With a few exceptions, we plant through the winter. The plants stay dormant, but any soil temperature over 40 degrees initiates root growth.

We can plant in the summer, but we prefer not to. We warranty our plants, meaning we want them to succeed as much as you do.

Often, the high humidity and extreme temperatures spur fungus and blights during the summer. We can avoid those issues and give your plants a healthier start by waiting a few months to plant.

Usually, our plants come from an artificially moist environment at the nursery, so each plant needs time to wean and establish before adjusting to a significantly different watering schedule.

Before planting, we provide you with photos for a true representation of the plants we select. The internet can pair incorrect photos to the plants, and your search may show you different colors than what we select.

Home magazines often show off beautiful varieties of plants! However, very few of those “featured” landscapes would survive in our USDA climate zone 6A.

Because of the variable Midwest weather, softscaping in Kansas City needs to use hardy plants that can adapt to the heat, cold, flood, and drought conditions we cycle through here in Kansas.
