When we develop outdoor kitchens in Overland Park, we can include anything you want, provided the design is safe and viable for your yard.
However, an outdoor kitchen doesn’t have the same practical requirements as a standard kitchen. While you might want it to be fully equipped, your outdoor kitchen likely won’t need all the same amenities you’d expect in an indoor kitchen.
For instance, most outdoor kitchens don’t dedicate much space to prep. Before cooking outdoors, whether that be a barbecue by the pool or an early morning breakfast scramble, homeowners do most of the prep work indoors. That’s where you keep all your tools and ingredients, and constantly running back inside for additional supplies can defeat the purpose of an outdoor kitchen.
You may want a sink for basic rinsing and sanitization, but we generally recommend smaller options. Most people do the dishes indoors.
If you’re committed to a large, fully equipped outdoor kitchen, we can take care of all your needs. Your space should fit the vision you have for your home and how to use it. But our designs make the most of your outdoor footprint by prioritizing things you value most rather than unnecessary additions.
